What is the International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO)?
The International General Knowledge Olympiad is organized annually for all the participating students to evaluate their knowledge on various subjects such as current events, history, geography, science, etc. It is perfect for learning and gaining knowledge about the world, and discovering how much you know beyond your normal school subjects.
Who conducts this Olympiad?
The IGKO is conducted by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF), a non-profit organization that promotes the learning of various subjects and concepts through educational competitions.
Who can participate?
The IGKO is open for candidates from Class 1 to Class 10. It’s for any young learner who wants to explore the world
How to register?
- Through School: A large number of schools enroll their students for the IGKO. If your school is participating, to your teacher you can give your name.
- Individual Registration: You can register individually through the SOF website if your school isn’t participating.
When is the exam held?
The IGKO is held in September and October each year. Schools have the discretion to select a date that best suits their schedule.
What’s the syllabus?
It brings the syllabus on current affairs, life skills, general knowledge etc. Intended to keep students informed and critically engaged with the world.
Exam pattern?
Classes 1 to 10: The exam is a one-hour online multiple-choice exam.
The questions should be in section wise like General Awareness, Current Affairs, Life Skills, and Achievers section.
