IPM All-India Open Mathematics Scholarship Exam

The Institute for Promotion of Mathematics (IPM) invites students from Grades 2 to 9 to participate in the All-India Open Mathematics Scholarship Exam. This exam has been conducted since 1996 to encourage mathematical learning among school children.

Who can participate?

Any student currently studying in Grades 2 to 9 can take the exam.

How many stages does the exam have?

There are two stages:

  1. Final Exam: Open to all registered students.
    • Date: 20th April 2025
  2. Mega Final Exam: For the top-performing students from the Final Exam.
    • Top 500 students from Grades 2 to 6 and top 400 students from Grades 7 to 9 will qualify.
    • Check the IPM website for the Mega Final Exam date.

How to register?

  • Register on the IPM website: ipmmathscholarship.com.
  • Last date to register: 31st January 2025
  • Registration fee: ₹400

What are the prizes?

  • Total Scholarship Amount: ₹10,00,000
  • Awards:
    • Top 5 rankers in each grade: Trophies
    • Ranks 6 to 20: Medals
    • Top 251 students (Grades 2-6) and top 150 students (Grades 7-9) get a one-time cash scholarship.
    • Certificates for all participants.

Certificate categories:

  • Merit: Top 251 rankers (Grades 2-6) and top 150 rankers (Grades 7-9).
  • Distinction: Students qualifying for and appearing in the Mega Final.
  • Appreciation: Students scoring 30% or more in the Final Exam but not selected for the Mega Final.
  • Participation: Students scoring below 30% in the Final Exam.

  • Rankings for the Mega Final will consider Mega Final marks first. If tied, Final Exam marks will be used.

Prize Distribution:
